Social Responsibility

Oncopeptides takes its role and responsibilities in society very seriously. We strive to have positive impacts wherever we are present – in the local communities where we conduct sales, research, and manufacturing, with our employees, suppliers, and all other stakeholders.

Through our Code of Conduct we outline how employees should act on a day-to-day basis. The code is acted on and reflected in our daily operations and fully integrated in our core values and overall company culture.

We understand the importance of having a deeply rooted culture in our working environment – one that is flexible and open-minded with a focus on international collaboration. Our core corporate values were established through an employee survey

and workshops that involved everyone in the company to capture the views and preferences from cross-functional and mixed globally. The results from these initiatives were collected by a project group that developed an engagement platform that includes five of our core values.

Our approach to social responsibility

In line with SDG 3, good health and wellbeing, the wellbeing of our employees, patients, medical professionals, suppliers, and all stakeholders will remain the defining feature of our social responsibility efforts.

We conduct employee surveys to track employee well-being and job satisfaction. The results of these initiatives help us measure and improve employee engagement.

We believe that diversity, inclusivity, and equality are key factors that determine the success of our business. We operate in a global environment, with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders from a wide variety of backgrounds. Oncopeptides has a diverse workforce in terms of nationalities, backgrounds, and age range. We also have a good gender balance, with more women than men in the organization.

Social issues in our operations

Employees can access all our policies through our Viva intranet platform, which also serves as an integrated component of onboarding new employees. Our whistleblowing system is also found on Viva and is in place to report any unethical behavior in the workplace. Any incidents reported are dealt with accordingly. No incidents were reported in 2020.

It is vital that we offer attractive career opportunities. Our ability to attract and retain world-class talent remains vitally important. This aspect of our operations is reflected in the fact that we continually have a low degree of staff turnover. Oncopeptides continued to grow in 2020 – and rapidly, registering its fastest rate of growth in terms of employee numbers on record, to 280 co-workers. We are now 136 in Sweden and 144 in the US.

We are involved in the communities where we operate and engage with issues close to our hearts. For example, during Multiple Myeloma Awareness Month, we were closely involved in the Miles for Myeloma 5K Run/Walk run and donating gifts and financial support to children in need.
